Hello, everyone! I’m Meg, and I am a high-maintenance glamper. When Shaleen wanted someone to be a guest blogger and talk about glamping and the best glamping products, I jumped at the chance to write for her, because there is nothing I like more than talking about my RV and anything RV-related.
I’m excited to take over Shaleen’s blog today and share my favorite products to take with me when I’m on the road. I do two types of RVing:
1. I take my NüCamp T@B teardrop glamping when I go on my solo RV adventures.
2. I motorhome with my husband in our Fleetwood Southwind Class A when we travel together.
Today, I’m talking about my favorite products to bring with me when I’m in my T@B RV since let’s be honest; I tend to bring half of my closest with me when I’m in the motorhome.
High-Maintenance Girls Can Glamp, Too
When I first got my T@B, I had no experience camping alone, let alone RVing alone. I am not a girl who loves dirt, bugs or roughing it. I sound like someone who wants to be outside in nature, right? The funny thing is, I love being outside. I enjoy spending time alone. That’s why my T@B is the perfect camper for me. I get the comforts of home with the feeling of being outside all in one. I embody the word glamper.
When I’m in my T@B, and I’m either boondocking or on limited water supply, I can’t use all of the products I usually use at home. I have to conserve water, and I have to bring the essentials with me because I have to keep my trailer weight to a minimum. Since I like to pack a lot of shoes, I have to keep the shoe-to-beauty-product ratio under control!
My Must-Have Glamping Products
Here are my favorite products to take with me in my T@B:
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen: Since I have soft-powdered brow tattoos, it’s imperative that I wear sunscreen in my brows every day. When I’m camping, I don’t always wear makeup, so I have to be diligent with my eyebrows and my skin. I like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen because it goes on in seconds without leaving any residue, and I don’t have to worry about white gunk on my eyebrows. I don’t even feel the sunscreen on my face.
DIY Bug Spray: I am a fan of essential oils. If I don’t have to put chemicals on my body, I am not going to. I make my own bug spray using a combination of DoTerra and Young Living essential oils combined with witch hazel. I smell good, feel good, and I keep the bugs away. I’ve tried different combinations of essential oils. This blend is mostly DoTerra TerraGuard mixed with witch hazel and distilled water.
Batiste Dry Shampoo: This is a game changer. Yes, I have a shower (a shoilet) in my RV, but I rarely take a full shower in my camper. When I do shower in my RV, it’s fast. On the days where my pixie isn’t standing straight up, I use Batiste. I’ve tried a lot of different dry shampoos, and I always go back to Batiste. It feels good and smells good, and I don’t look like I’ve dumped baby powder on my head.
Bare It All Micellar Wipes: Since I have to conserve water, I don’t wash my face at night with my usual multi-stepped Posh routine. I love the Bare It All Micellar Wipes, because I can get the day’s grime off my face, and I am conserving my water for more important things (like flushing the toilet). These wipes are also great in the middle of the day when I need to clean my face after spending time sweating when I’m hiking or paddleboarding. One swipe and I’m good to go.
Dr. Bronner’s Organic Hand Sanitizer: When I am camping, I feel like my hands get dirty quickly. If I’ve not touched something too gross, I use a spritz of this organic hand sanitizer to extend the time in between hand washing. It smells like lavender, and it’s lightweight. It doesn’t have that hand sanitizer smell, so I am getting rid of the germs and smelling nice all at the same time.
ShowerPouch: When I can’t shower, these wipes get me clean in seconds. It’s like a giant baby wipe, but it smells better, and I feel cleaner after using a ShowerPouch than I do with baby wipes. The ShowerPouch is made with organic ingredients, so I’m taking care of my skin while I’m getting the dirt off of me.
Red Bud Suds 4-in-1 Shower Bars: When I am at home, I use my Posh Chunks. When I am on the road, I use Red Bud Suds eco-friendly shower bars. Why? Because when water is a commodity, I need to use the least amount of water possible. Whether I’m using my shoilet shower, or I am taking a timed-shower at a state park, I have to be fast. I love that I can use the shoofah with the 4-in-1 shower bar, and wash and condition my body all at the same time without having to switch back and forth between products. After I’ve scrubbed from head to toe with my shoofah and 4-in-1 soap, I hang my soap to dry without it ever having to touch a yucky-public shower.
Big Fat Yummy Hand Crèmes:I don’t go anywhere without at least two Big Fat Yummy Hand Crèmes. I love using a lavender-scented crème, like Twilight Zoned. After a long day outside, I climb inside of my T@B and get cleaned up for the night. To unwind, I put on Twilight Zoned because it soaks in right away and calms me down all at the same time. If you haven’t tried one of the Big Fat Yummy Hand Crèmes, you need to. They are all made with apricot kernel oil, and they keep your hands soft without feeling greasy. Yay to not having greasy fingerprints all over my RV!
The Purifier Stick: Bugs and camping go hand in hand. I always have a Purifier Stick with me because I always have something small that’s easy to pack that soothes my skin at a moment’s notice. The Purifier Stick is made with shea butter and eucalyptus and tea tree oils so that I can calm my nasty bug bites in seconds. I’m only putting natural-based products on my skin, so I don’t have to worry about irritating the bites even more.
The Stripper: Sometimes, I have to break out the tough charcoal detoxifying products if the bugs have been extra tough on my skin. The Stripper is a body mud made of aloe vera and charcoal. It removes up to 2,000 times its own weight in dirt and impurities, and it is easy to dab on and wash off. Since the packaging is bigger, I usually carry sample sizes with me, or I place a few scoops of The Stripper into a smaller container and carry it with me that way to conserve space.
This summer, when you go camping or glamping, think about the products you use. Are you using products that are good for your skin as well as good for the environment? For me, conserving space and using the best products for my skin is one of my top priorities. I glamp in style and feel good at the same time. Happy Glamping!
